Halloween Freebies.

Are you spooked of the upcoming Halloween yet? If you haven't been spooked (digitally that is), it's time to hoard some Halloween Freebies to play with all those candid moments and pictures of the Trick or Treating festivities. I already have pictures of my son dressed in his first ever costume (as a tiger) and I'd definitely put that on top of my To-Digiscrap List. And so before I head to the pharmacy to buy a pain reliever for our helper's Plantar Fasciitis, I'm going to share my Halloween Freebie Finds, as promised. So without further ado, here they are. Click on the images to be directed to their download pages and as always, respect their TOUs and leave the designers some love.

Trick or Treat Blog Train.

Who says Trick or Treat are just for kids? Well, digiscrappers alike get to enjoy trick or treating this Halloween as Scrap Orchard Designers and Sunshine Studio Scraps collaborate in a big event this October 31st. Hop along the designers' blogs for some freebies and goodies worth stashing in your hard disk pumpkins.

So don't forget to mark you calendars the Halloween Blog Train will be on the October 31st. Have a spooky blog hopping and freebie hunting! Meanwhile, while the train is still parked in its carport..(do trains also have carports..LOL..or should I say trainports!), enjoy downloading some Halloween freebies I found on the web recently. I'll be posting them in a while.

My Baby Hunk.

Baby Hunk

My little baby hunk at 7 months.

By the way, here are some more of his studio pictorial shots at TPC in Powerplant Mall. It's a good thing that we have digital copies of it so it will just be displayed at home through the digital frame my sister gifted me since the printed copies were snagged by his grannies. Guests can easily browse through all his baby pics when he got visits at home.

Googly Felt.

Although I haven't been digiscrapping lately, I do find myself dropping by my favorite galleries for some inspiration and digishops to check out the latest trends in the scrapping world today. Aside from that, I'm still updated of the latest sales so I can binged on the products I've been wanting to have at a steal price. "Binge" is the emphasized word here because my paypal wallet is also constrained from unnecessary splurging. LOL.

Anyway, before I go hunting online for Moen faucets for the kitchen, I just want to buzz about Aja Abney's latest embellishments at Scrapartist which would definitely make your layouts stand out. These will be particularly suited for your Halloween layouts but will also make other themed layouts dashing.

Frightening Felt - Nine embellished felt circles, perfect for those Halloween and Fall layouts.

Oogly Googly - Add some fun to your projects with these googly eyes.

Aren't they just cute? And oh, they just cost a dollar each so they're really a steal.

Yearning for a Masteral Degree.

One of the things in my five year plan is to earn a Masteral Degree. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in business and an MBA degree would definitely be an icing on the cake. I may be a full time homemaker (although earns online occasionally) now as I took my career in the back seat to personally take care of my 7-month-old son, but the goal of earning a masteral degree is still there. I won't be a stay-at-home mom for long..this is just a temporary setup until such time that I know my baby's (and me) ready to be on his own. Not literally that he'll be independent but let's say until the time he can already be left with somebody else at home and until the moment that we've both overcome separation anxiety.

Now for the time being, I'm thinking if I can take this chance to pursue my masteral dreams through earning a degree online. I recently stumbled upon Capella University while I was googling for possible online universities and I find their facilities remarkable. Aside from business, they also offers graduate degrees in information technology, education, human services, and a lot more. They also have bachelor's degree programs in these fields. Founded in 1993, Capella has been the top choice of those working adults to pursue their masteral dreams. I'll go and watch the interview podcasts of some Capella students, faculty and staff to know more about the online university. Who knows, I might be one of them too in the near future.

Fall 2008 TV: dNeero-ites Want to Know.

I do stay online most of the time of the day but watching a TV show at night relaxes me and hubby before dozing off.

MIA.

Hey it's been a while since I last updated this blog. My apologies for the absence as I got a lot of tasks on my hand for weeks now. If you've been frequenting my main blog and my Mommy blog, you'll know why. I haven't even touched any of my new digiscrapping kits lately. :sigh: I know I know I have been neglecting this hobby of mine but I also got a lot of online commitments to finish. And of course, apart from being a work-at-home mom, most of my time is spent on Mommy duties to my adorable son who's getting more active and growing so well. Then the holidays are approaching so preparations are done for it as well. Speaking of holidays, have you started drafting your wish list yet? I already have mine but it isn't final. I'm wanting an Audemars Piguet watch but the husband might end up giftless to my son. LOL.

Christmas Digiscraps.

Christmas is definitely just around the corner (after Thanksgiving and Halloween). And with time flying in a wink of an eye, it's never too early to start preparing Holiday presents for your loved ones. Below are just a few ideas what you can give this Christmas using the wonders of digital scrapbooking. It's fun, free and what's more remarkable, the recipient would definitely enjoy your gifts because they are labors of love.

1. Make use of your digital scrapbook kits to create Christmas cards. You may use your family picture or your recipient's picture.
2. Cook or bake your specialty such as cales, appetizers, cookies, and other Christmas goodies. Digiscrap a recipe card wrap it up with a more personal touch.
3. Digiscrap Calendars are also common holiday gifts.
4. Make use of your Holiday kits to create a letterhead for your child's letter to Santa.
5. Digiscrap papers may also be printed and used as gift wrappers.
6. In connection to number 5, a gift tag may also be personalized.

New Stylish Frames from Zenni.

I am blessed with a pretty good eyesight. Contact lens and eyeglasses aren't for me just yet but I know that sooner or later, I'll be needing them as I grow older. Declining eyesight comes along with old age and that's a fact.

For those who aren't as lucky as me, you might have probably heard over the news or on the radio about the Zenni Prescription eyeglasses. In fact, it was even featured at The Clark Howard Show where Clark has nothing but all praises how trusted Zenni and their products are. And I bet all the more that they will be the talk of the town today as they've just released a new set of stylish frames. Typically, wearing eyeglasses is associated with terror spinsters, or geeks, or nerds. But Zenni erases that notion as one may be able to sport a fashionable style through their frames. They've got the widest array of chic but cheap frames. They also have single vision lens, sunsensor (potochromic) lens, tinted sunglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens. What's even more remarkable about Zenni is that they are one of the cheapest, if not the most, in the industry. They sell their Stylish Prescription Glasses Online for as low as &8. The reason behind this is that no middlemen or mid-retailers involve in between. They manufacture and sell their glasses direct to their consumers, thus, no surging mark-ups are placed.

Shabby Pickle's $1 Deals.

Aakkkk..I've just declared that I'm on a shopping freeze but thanks to my twitter pals who buzzed this morning about the Shabby Pickle Designs' $1 deal and I ended up holing my paypal wallet by $5. No regrets though, these goodies are all such a steal. I can't pass this $1 sale up so here I am, downloading them on to my external hard disk. Since I've got new goodies, I just hope that my mojos will knock on me later so I can digiscrap again. It's been a while since I last scrapped a page.

Here's my shopping loot at SPD:

No need to reach for your eyeglasses, please click on each thumbnail to see them clearer. Would you believe that I saved $18.23 all in all with these products? I told you they're a steal.

Halloween Kits.

Halloween's just around the corner and I'm so excited since this will be Asher's first time to celebrate such. I can't wait to dress him up with his Tigger costume and roam around with other kids Trick or Treating. And since this will be his first, I need Halloween kits to scrap his would be pictures. While I'm researching about Outer Banks rentals this morning, I have seen several Halloween-themed kits from among my favorite shops but do you know where I could snag one for free? I'm on a scrimping mode at the moment that's why I'll count on freebies for the mean time.

If only I have spare bucks, these Kate Hadfield's goodies would have been on my downloaded files since their debut at The Lilypad:

The Shabby Shoppe's 2009 Calendars.

Yes, they're already out. I said "they" because it's not just one product they released but there are eight new Shabby Shoppe 2009 calendar products to choose from. The design and format may be one page, two-paged and cd calendars. I bought one volume of cd calendar last year and that's what hubby is using on his desk. I plopped my pregnancy and some Asher pics. I'm thinking of buying one set of the cd calendar and of course, pictures to plopped on are all Asher, what else?

Anyway, The Shabby Shoppe products are on sale through October 5 in celebration of the fall season.

I love the banner color. It reminds me of the chic and cozy outdoor furniture covers I saw online recently while searching for patio furnitures. Anyway, better hop on over their site to take advantage of the huge sale while there's still time.

NSBR: U.S. Presidential Politics ... OMG!

What are your thoughts on the upcoming US presidential elections?

Well, just like any elections in the world, it is actually a choice between two evils because there is no perfect political candidate and each one has their own faults and flaws. So for you, between Obama and McCain, who is the lesser evil?

Melamine Scare.

Meanwhile, this whole Melamine Scare is making people go ballistic and paranoid. Everyone's seeming to ride with the issue that even the non-China made products are sensationalized to be included in the government's list of recalled products. Nestle has already issued a statement assuring its consumers that their milk products are safe for consumption. Milk products' raw materials used in brands such as Nido, Bear Brand, Neslac, Nestogen, Nesvita, and Nestle are imported from Australia, New Zealand, USA and Europe. Raw materials, cattle supplies and the like from these countries are safe and handled very well.

Bebots' Guest Sheets for Asher's Christening.

Finally, I get to share the signed Christening guest sheets of Asher...after five years..just kidding..five months. I've been meaning to share these layouts especially to my Bebot Digiscrapper friends who volunteered to scrap the guest sheets but I always forget to take a picture of them. These are compiled by the way in a photo album in which all of his Christening pictures are also pooled. Please click on each thumbnail to view the pics larger on my flickr account. So to Wanda, Diane, Suzanne and Litzie, thank you again for the time, effort and creativity.

I'm so disturbed with the news I'm watching right now. How could a father brutally hit his child to death. He's demented and needed drug treatment badly. The child's in custody now of the Social Services while the father is sent to a drug treatment center where he'll stay for a bit long duration of therapy and to the jail to face the charges filed against him.
