Lead Restriction

In the electronics industry of Europe, there’s a directive called Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) that must be complied with.  Under this directive, certain substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium VI also known as hexavalent chromium plating, and pbb, pbde flame retardants used in plastics are restricted in the manufacturing process of electronic goods.  To be compliant, solder joints must contain less than 0.1% lead.  Thus, the utilization of a Lead Free Solder is highly encouraged.  Fine Line Stencil, with their advanced laser and material technologies, is a leading manufacturer of above mentioned lead free applications and the highest quality laser stencils in the industry.
