Collecting washi tapes has been my obsession lately. Not only that it gives me a therapeutic feeling whenever I look at their colors but I love using them when wrapping gifts or packages. Washi tapes are also called as wasabi tape. Not that it has to do with the spicy condiment that is eaten with sushis, but these tapes originated from Japan. It’s made from natural fibers of bamboo, hemp or the mulberry (mitsumata shrub) which is very common in Japan. These washi tapes are strong and easy to design on that’s why they make as great packing materials embellishment.
