Thanks Diane!

Look here what Diane has RAKed (Random Act of Kindness) me with.

Isn't she sweet and isn't my son a darling? I was so lucky to have his first successful "heads up" adventure captured and his sunny smile and pose added delight even more. Such a sweet memory to cherish. It's actually one of my favorite shots that's why when Diane asked an Asher pic to scrap, I knew which photo to give. My son's definitely a charmer and I'm just so overly delighted that Diane whipped up a layout with it. Thanks girl!

Meanwhile, my download isn't through yet (my connection's so slooowwwwwwwww) so I'll just check out some kitchen faucets online. The helper broke our faucet's handle that's why we have to replace it asap.

Kylie's Invite 2 and a Toot.

Okay..I have a toot to boot.

Aja Abney of Scrapartist.com announced last week a Guest CT Call at MSA and DST. And in order for me to drive back my digiscrapping mojos, I responded to her call by doing a layout using her Be My Guest Mini Kit. Here's the layout I submitted:

Lullaby

Nigh & Day Ribbon by Beth Rimmer
Love You Element by Coralie Designs
Sleep Tight Element by Misty Cato

And guess what, I got accepted! Ang the bigger news is that I'm offered not with a guest stint but with a permanent position. I'm now officially one of Aja's girls. Check out the annoucement here. I'm so excited to work with Aja and the rest of the team.

On another note, here's the second baptism invite I did for Kylie. Unlike the first one, I went for a neat and simple one using just two papers still from Julie Billingsby's Yesteryear Baby Collection. I made two layouts entirely with two different styles so my sister-in-law has an option. I'm unsure of her taste so it's up to her which ever she chooses.

So there, I think my digiscrapping mojos are finally back. I have a commitment to fulfill so you'd see new layouts uploaded here every now and then.

I have to go now as a friend just buzzed over YM and asked me to help her find online jobs in Chicago to apply for. Her US Visa just got approved and she's bound to migrate there by the end of this year.

Kylie's Invite 1

My sister-in-law asked me a favor to design and digital scrap a layout for her daughter's Christening invitation. This just came in time as I have a newly bought girl-themed kit by Julie Billingsby of Sweet Shoppe Designs. It's part of the Yesteryear Baby Collection which is currently at 30% off its original price.

Here's the first invite I whipped up using the said kit. I am yet to upload the second one on which I used the same kit as above.

Meanwhile, I have to check out these Hilton Head rentals a friend has referred while the second invite is being uploaded.

Hot Finds: Shabby Cottage

I'll be starting a new tag in this digiscrapping nook and I'll label it as Hot Finds. Every now and then, I'll be featuring my recent digiscrapping stuff discoveries - whether it's a purchase or just a freebie..and I shall also post my layout/s on which I used the said stuff.

So with my first one, here's Shabby Cottage which is the very first site collab of the ShabbyPickleDesigns designers. Check it out now as it's for sale at 60% off its regular price.

Here's the layout I did with this fantabulous kit:

Title: To Kiss

To Kiss.

Meanwhile I'll go ahead and search for techie and gadgets themed kit which I'll use to scrap my Father's Day layout for my dear hubby. Anyone knows where I can buy element packs with playstation 3, computers, iPods, cellphones, etc?

Layouts Share.

Wondering what's up with me lately? Well, take a look at these layouts and you'll know what kept me busy these past few days.

Yes..my mojos are back and kicking. Finally, my digiscrapping mood is back that I managed to scrap at least one layout a day this week. At least, I'm putting to use all my NSD purchases, right?

On another note, I'm a bit gloomy that I'm going back to work next week after two months of absence. My maternity leave of 60 days and sick leave due to my cholecystectomy (1 week) are fully consumed so here I am, seeing myself dragging myself heavily to the office on Monday. Arggh, I'm dreading this day when it'd mean that I'm gonna spend less time with my baby. My "me" time (read as relaxing time) is likewise reduced..probably even gone. Now I'm just not sure if I can scrap madly as I'm doing now. How I wish time flies fast forward to June fast. Hubby and I have major plans drawn that would affect my career and our family.

I have to go for the mean time. I need to review the franchise proposal sent by a friend of mine.

D Day.

Here's another layout I just whipped. Finally, I am putting into use my recent digiscrap goodie purchases. I've been one trigger happy digi shopper these past few weeks and my husband is already raising his eyebrows over my diminishing paypal earnings. I have tons of pictures to scrap but I just lack the drive to create layouts.

D Day.

After doing my review about this teak patio furniture later I might digiscrap again while my mojos are active.

DS No. 89: The 1st Sign - 2 Pink Lines.

Since Baby A doesn't want to come out yet, I'm into digiscrapping all my pregnancy memories and photos. I've done some in the past few months but I have to make several more as I plan to have it printed...perhaps make it into a photobook.

Here's the one I whipped last night:

Our 2008 CVG Calendar.

You’ve probably came across my entry in my another blog about me being busy designing the 2008 calendars I’d be giving away to my colleagues. Yup, I’m done with that. In fact, all of our workstations in the office are now adorned with these cutie calendars I digiscrapped. Lovely, aren’t they?

DS No. 87: 2nd Anniversary.

Ooopss! I almost forgot to post here my recent digiscrap layout I did for our 2nd anniversary. It seems my mojos are finally back!

Journalling:
On this same date two years ago, I vowed to be your constant best friend, your faithful partner, you eternal soul mate and fortress. I can still vividly remember that special moment when I gave you my word that I’ll love you forever and it is with you that I’ll share the rest of my life with. Now as we celebrate our second year anniversary and as we joyfully await the coming of our Baby A, I want to renew and reaffirm my vow..to be the best that I can be - as your wife and soon, Baby A’s mom. Nothing in this world could ever be as wonderful as the love you’ve given me. Surely we have our own share of ups and downs but it’s in those moments that we’ve proven how stronger we could become, how our love encompasses everything…and I thank for you that. Happy Anniversary and I love you so much!

My apologies if I don’t have any material thing to give you on this special day. I know, more than anything else, it’s this lil blessing inside my tummy that you’re most anxious to get hold of. Don’t worry Dad, our greatest and most-awaited gift will be unwrapped soon.

I’m feeling a little artistic today so I went ahead and used the freebie quickpage. This shot was taken while dear hubby is riding the rollercoaster and screaming his heart out. Lolz!

DS no. 85: The First Sign of Life

Read the full details here.

Journalling:
July 6, 2007
9: 57 PM
Thank you Lord, for this early sign of life..for entrusting to us this precious gift. Fourteen hours later since I first witnessed how the second pink line appeared, here I am still dumbfounded…astonished. Can’t find the right words to explain my thoughts and the extreme delight I’m feeling right now. After 18 months of trying, finally the perfect time has come. Paul and I are so elated that we’re finally blessed..that we’re finally realizing our long time dream of parenthood. Thank you, Lord for this wonderful gift.

DS No. 84: Simone's Invites 2

Here's the 2nd layout I did for Simone's Dedication Invites. As requested by her Mom, I used pink and brown papers and elements to match her dedication motif. This is my favorite among the 4 layouts I did.

DS No. 83: Simone's Invites # 1

Here’s the first invite I did for a good friend’s daughter. Simone was welcomed into the Christian world as she was dedicated last month. Her dedication was initially scheduled on April 29 but rescheduled to May 13. We could have gone and witnessed this momentous event but this was the time when we also celebrated hubby’s birthday in Subic. At any rate, I saw from the pictures that Simone and her parents had a blast. My good friend, Jacque, also told me that a lot raved about the (labor of love) invites I did for her daughter woohoo!

DS No. 82: Dad's Day '07

Finally, I was able to scrap today. It’s been a while since I last opened my Photoshop CS2 and played around with my kits. I also bought a newly-released goodie from Sweet Shoppe Designs at 20% off which I used in this layout.

So here it is…my layout tribute to my beloved Papa in time with the Father’s Day tomorrow.

Pa, even though you’re so far away, I want you to know that you are remembered and deeply appreciated for all the things you’ve done for us. Love u so much!

DS No. 81: Subic.

Subic

===Subic Getaway===
May 12 (Saturday) – Paul and I together with my in-laws and Paul’s siblings drove to Subic for an overnight relaxation away from the city. This summer getaway was planned for a triple celebration: Paul’s birthday on the 14th, Mothers Day celeb on the 13th and mom-in-law’s birthday on the 16th. We hit the road at about 7 am. By past 8 am, we were already at Bacolor, Pampanga to fetch and convoyed with my sis-in-law’s family. If not with the slow-moving caravans of election candidates doing their last round campaigns on the highway, we could have arrived in Subic earlier. We reached Sheavens Beach View Hotel in Baretto, Olongapo by 10:30 am. Since they’re still arranging the rooms and check in time is not until 12 noon, we just hang around the tropical garden and lounged and took some photos by the waters of Subic Bay.

After a while, we then settled in our rooms and since we were all salivating for lunch, we hurriedly scoured the main road of Gapo for a nice and cheap diner. Well knowing Gapo, obviously, pubs and beer gardens mostly lined up the main road. Luckily, there’s a resto just a few blocks away from the hotel and there we stuffed ourselves (although, food was not that great). Back in the hotel, I brought out my laptop and luckily, a wireless connection was detected however it was so intermittent and slow that I fell asleep while waiting for the page to load. Lolz.

We walked to nearby Baloy Beach later in the afternoon for a swim.
Later that evening, we headed back to the hotel, freshened up and got ready for dinner. Again, hunting for a good resto was a challenge. Subic’s beach and hotels sprawled near the shoreline of Baloy are really appealing and nice but how I wish they’ll also put up cheap and nice restos to dine in. At any rate, we wre able to find in the outskirts of the highway a so-so grillery and there we ate.

We went back to the hotel, stayed up late watching TV and DVDs on the laptop, then retired the night. The next morning, we had a Jollibee breakfast, went for a morning swim in the beach except for me who was slacking of changing into my swimwear. Later, we checked out and drove back to Manila with the unforgiving and sweltering heat.
